Angelica Ponder
Angélica Ponder is committed to aligning people and processes through the power of learning. She is a compassionate and thought-provoking partner who supports and challenges others in becoming more self-aware so that they may fully explore their interests and needs, and ultimately create a vision and action plan that leverages their strengths in favor of their personal and professional goals.
Ponder is a Certified Hospitality Trainer and a Certified Quality Process Analyst. She is a DISC assessment-certified human behavior consultant, with strong expertise in group facilitation, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness. She is well-versed in project management and Lean Six Sigma process improvement tools and is knowledgeable on Myers-Briggs principles of Emotional Intelligence and CliftonStrengths by Gallup. She received her certification as a Transformational Coach by the world-renowned John Maxwell Leadership.
Prior to starting Angélica Ponder Consulting Solutions, LLC., Angélica was a Senior Executive Trainer at Forbes Travel Guide (FTG). While at FTG, she partnered with Executive Leadership teams at luxury hotels, restaurants, and spas to create habits to improve performance. She developed confidence in the staff’s technical and soft skills to enhance their delivery of gracious and thoughtful service.
Prior to her time with FTG, Ponder worked for seven years in the real estate industry with Greystar Worldwide LLC -the global leader in rental housing. Angélica reshaped the culture of a multi-state regional team with over 1,000 members, receiving recognition for her influential, creative, and collaborative approach that led to a tangible transformation. She was recognized for her impact being awarded the People Pillar of Excellence Award and the Top Service Award.
Ponder was a high-performer with Ritz-Carlton hotels as Regional Learning and Development Manager in Arizona and Regional Performance Improvement Manager where she executed more than 25 cross-functional projects and learned the inner workings of every department in the hotel. She partnered with hotel senior leadership to increase customer engagement, eliminate defects, and foster innovation.
After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Hospitality Business, Ponder started her career at the legendary Waldorf Astoria New York. While managing four departments with as many as 65 diverse team members, she learned the importance of building trust to develop a high-performing team.
